Meet Oasis Connect Face of The Week: Oni Damilola Kimberly

I'm Oni Oluwadamilola Olayinka popularly known as Kimberly. I'm a native of ise ekiti. Was born in osun state tho I grew up on the streets of akure. 5.9ft, I was born into a family of five, my dad, mum and siblings. I started modeling age.

During the last days in secondary school. I must confess the journey wasn't a smooth one for me. I came across an agency in akure byc modeling agency,I met the CEO on Facebook and he encouraged me and told me I have a nice stature, wasn't moved cos I always hear that from different persons. Funny enough I was given a chance in byc without auditioning. I started doing freelance work. I started going for groomings. I meet photographers and I plead to work with them..

I decided to work in  a photo studio because of my passion for modeling. the moment I had my first runway experience I was glad cos people came to me after the show and I had good comments.  On the long run I gain admission and modeling became more interesting. I tried a beauty pageant for my department and became the first runner up I was very sad and that same Month GTB organized  a show tagged GTcrea8. Born to create  in my school and the student union director of socials saw me when I was coming from basketball training i  and was like Kimberly go and prepare you are contesting for miss GTcrea8 Aaua. I accepted and went to someone for advice.

To God be the glory I won. I was so happy. I have a crown finally. I remembered the organizers asked me what I wanted during the interview  I couldn't say anything cos I was too happy.. I became the social mistress. Known as a model on campus and people started coming to me,  people wants to be like me not knowing I'm struggling with my career. Byc trained me on runway and my 100 level days I went for ondo state fashion week casting and I made it.

And it wasn't funny we were called for another casting again cos they felt people are much on ground so they need professionals. And I made it again, I was glad I made it to ondo state models. Same year I was given an award of best model of the year in my faculty. And here I am still pushing it as a determined runway model. A commercial model who has worked for different photographers. Hoping to get scouted from one of the best agencies in Nigeria. I was made the official groomer of Glee modeling agency and I felt honored. My advice to Aspiring models is never to loose focus. The road is not smooth at all. I'm pushing it cos I see light at the end of the tunnel.

I've learnt to believe in myself and determination and it has been my drive. I want to get to the stage I no longer have to introduce myself. I wanna be the top in the fashion Industry. Thank you.
