Transfer news: Van Persie joins Feyenoord

Former Manchester United star, Robin van Persie has completed a transfer to Dutch club, Feyenoord.

The club made the announcement on Monday in a statement through their official website.

“Dutch Feyenoord have announced that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of Robin van Persie following a successful medical,” the statement reads.

The 34-year-old has appended his signature to a contract that will tie him to Feyenoord for a year and a half.

The former Arsenal striker is returning fourteen years after he left the club for the English Premier League (EPL).

Van Persie joins Feyenoord on a free transfer from Turkish outfit, Fenerbah├že.

He will have his first training session with his new teammates later on Monday under the guidance of manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The Netherlands international was a big success in the Premier League with Arsenal, for whom he scored 131 goals in 276 matches, before transferring to Manchester United, then Fenerbah├že in Turkey.
