You cannot push me to disown my SM Militants – Shatta Wale

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, says some faceless people in the industry want him to abandon his Shata Movement Militants.

The ‘Dancehall King’ as he affectionately called by his SM fans says he refuses to fall to the whims of such people, rather, he has pledged to showcase them to the world.

Artistes, Addi Self, Joint 77 and Captan who are all members of the SM Militants have all featured in one of Wale’s hit songs or the other.

The dancehall king has further lambasted people he thinks are looking forward to seeing him part ways with the Militants.

According to him, he refuses to pay heed to any pressure that will cause him to do such a thing since his artistes are just about getting into the limelight.

He said ‘People want me to disown them; how? They are my kids and just a year old. I just gave birth to them. They are wearing pampers for now.’

He continued that, he can only give them the opportunity to face the world themselves if ‘they are grown and have started wearing shorts.’

Nonetheless, Shatta Wale disclosed that he will do his best to bring out and develop the talents in each of them.

“I have told them I will use my heart and everything to support them. Stardom is a visitor; You have to control it. They should understand and keep the humility and respect. I watch what I say because whatever I say is the direction of God. I have told them stardom and fame are just visitors…” he maintained on Zylofon FM.
