Former Pro-Chancellor Donates Books to AAUA

A former Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Ambassador Oladele Akadiri, has donated some copies of two books authored by him to the Department of History and International Studies of the Institution.

The books are Diplomacy: World Peace and Security; and his memoir, The Story of My Life.
Presenting the books to the University, Ambassador Akadiri said he was fulfilled to have served the University in the past few years when he wished he would have done for members of the University community in terms of academic activities and international affairs.
Ambassador Akadiri, who was represented by Mr. Jide Akadiri, however said, I hope the donation of these books today will serve substantially the same purpose..

Receiving the books on behalf of the University, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, who was represented by the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Mr. Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa, thanked the donor for his philanthropic gestures to the University over the years, which have in no small measure contributed the growth of the University.

Earlier in his address, the Dean of Faculty of Arts, Prof. Olu Alana, had urged other philanthropists within and outside Ondo Stete to emulate Ambassador Akadiris gesture.
The Head of the Department History and International Studies, Dr. (Mrs.) Kikelomo Olugbemi, in her remark, appreciated the donor, acknowledging that the books would serve good research materials for both students and staff of the Department.
