WALK AGAINST SOCIAL VICES: Students Union Commends Students For Massive Turnout

The Students' Union of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, yesterday, 30th of September, held a walk against social vices on campus of the institution.

The walk which is part of the lineup activities for the 2018/19 Students' Union week is to go against immorality and illegal activities which can jeopardise the stay of students of the institution. Social vices such as indecent dressing, smoking, examination malpractice and other criminal acts were go against through the walk.

Speaking with OASIS MEDIA correspondent, the General Secretary of the Students' Union who is also the General Secretary of the Students' Union Week, Adebayo Jesutola Solomon (Tolajay) said the walk is to sensitize and educate students on the need to build societal values instead of social vices. An individual can only be good and responsible to the society once they are responsible to themselves.

Speaking on the turnout, the General Secretary commend students of the institution for being part of the walk despite the rain and appreciated them for their support.

Also, the Students' Union President, Adesomojo Samuel; Students' Union Week Committee Chairman, Sampraise and IBD respectively enjoined students to massively participate in other activities evolving the programme, throughout this week.

The Students' Union week is scheduled this week as it began yesterday, 30th of September.

Other activities involved include: Entrepreneurship skill, Award presentation, Dance and music performance, Lecture, and so on.
